The annual GASCON Memorial Golf Tournament is again scheduled for the first weekend in November. The Club sponsored event is at the Edgewater Hotel and Casino in Laughlin, NV. If you have questions, please leave a message for Art, on the Club message line 702-201-1448. There is a discount code that should be used when making hotel reservations.
Great harmonica led Blues Music returns to the Club on October 17th. Join us at 6:00pm, as "Monk and the Po' Boys" again take our floor for two hours of classic blues in one of the most intimate venues in Las Vegas. There is no cover for the show.
The Bar will be available to all of our Guests. The doors open at 4:30. Arrive early for best seats and ask our greeter about the evening food/snack options. The Club Members want to thank all of our friends in Las Vegas that stopped by to share in our Oktoberfest celebration on Oct 13th and 14th. It was a remarkable and lively party, with entertainment by Jimmi Ellis and Ginger Schnapps. There was great weather, laughter, dance, music and food. The event was staged and supported by the volunteer labor of our members, working to share German Culture in southern Nevada.
We hope to see everyone at our next community event, Maifest, May 3rd and 4th, 2024. The "Latin Groove" party has been RESCHEDULED for October 10th. Sal Santiago hopes to see his friends on that new date. Visitors to the Club are always asked to sign the Guest Register. Fall is always a wonderful turn in the year. With the moderation of temperatures in late August, it seemed like Las Vegas got an early movement out of summer heat.
Now, with the passing of the Autumnal Equinox, and the rising of the Harvest Moon in Late September, we have arrived at Oktober in the German Calendar. While a common caricature might be the celebrations of Oktoberfest in Munich, the truth is that harvest time has arrived, days have shortened, and the air is fresh and cool again. It is time to celebrate, gather in with friends and family, and to enjoy the pleasures of accomplishments in the closing year. The German-American Social Club is the right place to step in, slow down, smile and relax with all. We hope you might visit and see how we celebrate Fall....... |
